Leading Hand Urban Maintenance / Concreter

An exciting opportunity exists for an Urban Maintenance Leading Hand/Concreter within our progressive regional Council!

  • Band 4 ($65,810 - $69,464)
  • Permanent Full-time
  • 8 day working fortnight (9.5hrs per day)

Horsham Rural City Council is a vibrant municipality located approximately 300 kilometres north-west of Melbourne. The majority of its' 19,880 residents are located in Horsham, a hub for health care, niche retail, education and schooling, community services, arts, sports and culture.

The region is a significant producer of dryland, broad acre cereals and agriculture is one of the region's main industries. There is an abundance of wide open space, small populations and diverse natural assets, including recreational lakes, wetlands, the Wimmera River, Mount Arapiles and nearby Grampians National Park.

Who are we looking for?

In this role you are responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day activities of the Urban Maintenance Unit, which provides effective maintenance of concrete and drainage structures including footpaths, kerb and channel and similar infrastructure.

Concreting experience is required, as well as knowledge and understanding of municipal works implementation and supervision practices. Plant operation licences/certification are desired.
