Maternal & Child Health Nurses
Casual Engagement (open-ended application arrangements until 31 December 2020)
Maternal & Child Health Nurses are responsible for providing a high quality, family-centred health care service that promotes and protects the health of families with children 0-6 years in the municipality.
We are currently looking for casual staff to support our existing permanent workforce. We will consider and respond to all applications as they are received, up until 31 December 2020.
You will possess knowledge of current issues of child health, development, and behaviour and an awareness of state policy directions. You will have a demonstrated ability to work in a team to solve problems and achieve outcomes in a constructive and co-operative manner. Experience in using CDIS and IRIS data systems is also applicable.
Key Responsibility Areas include:
- The delivery of primary and secondary health care
- Monitor, assess and promote the health, growth, development and social skills of young children 0-6 years, including their physical, social/emotional and intellectual status. Attend, conduct and assist with hearing screenings
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Registration as a General Nurse, Midwife and Maternal & Child Health Nurse
- Previous experience with a local authority as a Maternal & Child Health Nurse is desirable but not essential
